Castellón Airport
The province of Castellón will soon have an airport.
The project, which is nearing completion, is found in the vicinity of the municipal area of Vilanova d'Alcolea.

Characteristics:
The airport will have a runway of 2,700 metres in length and 45 metres in width, capable of accommodating planes coming from the north of Europe.

The area of the airport occupies 542.3 hectares. It includes sufficient terrain to be able to enlarge the runway to 4,000 metres in length (so it would be able to receive inter-continental flights) or for the construction of maintenance hangars for the fleets.

   Infrastructure

- A runway of 2,700m in length and 45m in width, with margins of 7.5m on each side. Furthermore, it has a runway safety area of 70m and a area free of obstacles of 170m, one on each end of the terrain.
 - Instrument Landing System (ILS) on runway end 06.
 - Category 1 system of lights and beacons, which includes Precision Approach Path Indicator (PAPI).
 - A 55,000 square metres of airport apron.
 - A Two-floor passenger terminal building which has all the necessary for the checking in, boarding and disembarkation of passengers, in addition to other services, like a restaurant and tourist information centre. All with every security measure.
 - Parking for private vehicles, taxis and coaches.
 - A cargo terminal.
 - A building for the Airport Fire Service with all the resources necessary for fire-fighters.
 - A power station.
 - A building for catering, handling and stewards.
 - An area for general aviation.
 - A water purification centre.
 - Road access both from the coast and inland. Connected via the CV-13 to Torreblanca, and the A-7 and CV-10 to Castellón.
 - Aviation fuel storage tanks for refuelling the planes.
